Getting Social to Drive Hotel Business, Announce Initiatives

Are you reaching out where your guests are searching for more information about your facility and what you have to offer? Are you using the various multiple channels available to you to market your hotel?

Take blogging, for example. Does your website include a blog where you can include personal accounts from your guests about their wonderful experiences at your hotel? Are you including new trends you’re incorporating at your properties, such as green initiatives?   For example, hotels in Laguna Beach, California recently announced their effort to recycle all of the soaps, shampoos, hair conditioners, lotions, and bath gels that are left over after a night’s stay. As of November 14, Laguna Beach became the first city in the nation to have all of its hotel properties with more than 20 rooms participate in Clean the World – a Florida-based nonprofit that provides recycled hotel soaps and hygiene products to those in need.   In another green initiative, hotels are beginning to add electric-vehicle charging stations to compete. For instance, in Florida, Comfort Suites Palm Bay near Melbourne Beach is adding a charging station installed by Miami Beach-based Car Charging Group. The equipment is part of the ChargePoint network, which features smart-phone applications that let electric-vehicle drivers map driver support services.   These are just two examples of great new trends in the hospitality sector that can be shared and promoted through blogging on a hotel’s website, e-newsletters, and optimized press releases. These avenues are a great way to incorporate information of value and provide forums to go into more detail.   What’s more, posting this type of relevant information to your company’s Facebook page, Google +, and Twitter account will allow people to share what is happening at your property.   Risk Advisors of America serves the diverse and complex insurance and risk management needs of the Hospitality industry.
